Shumen, often called the heart of the Bulgarian National Revival, has a rich and layered history. After centuries of Ottoman rule, Shumen became a cultural hub that played a key role in preserving the Bulgarian spirit and language. It is no coincidence that Shumen is also considered the cradle of Bulgarian theater. However, after the changes at the end of the 20th century, relations between different ethnic groups became strained, hindering the unity needed for the industrial, intellectual, cultural, and spiritual growth of the city’s society.

In The Good Man from Shumen, a remarkable love story unfolds between the Turkish and Bulgarian ethnicities, overcoming these boundaries. This contemporary interpretation of "Romeo and Juliet" from Shumen shows how love can change destinies and break down stereotypes.

The performance takes us through an emotional evening where the characters must overcome not only personal but also social obstacles to connect on a deeper level.
