“GRAB THE LION!” – the newest production by Teddy Moskov at DKT “Vasil Drumev” – Shumen

How do you grab a lion? And then – how do you free yourself from its embrace? Will that embrace be a dance, or a struggle? And who will have grabbed whom – you the lion, or the lion you?

In fact, “Grab the Lion” is the name of the charmingly mad hero of our delightfully crazy performance. The hero gave himself that name because he imagined he was a knight and needed a title that would inspire awe.

We invite you on a theatrical walk through an imagined medieval world, filled with absurd humor brought to us by clumsy knights clad in armor pieced together from “recycled materials.”

The performance is about a special kind of foolishness – clownish foolishness – in which we seek salvation from the unpleasant practicality that has gripped kind people with the sole aim of turning them into unpleasant ones.

The show is inspired by the film “Brancaleone’s Army” by the legendary Italian comedy director Mario Monicelli. For adapting this film to the stage, Monicelli himself gave his blessing to the director – not only gladly, but also in front of BNT’s cameras.
