Teodora Zheleva was born on May 14, 1983, in Varna. She completed her secondary education in 2000 at “Geo Milev” High School in Varna, in a class with intensive German language studies. From 2001 to 2002, she studied Business Communications at Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar,” and from 2003 to 2005, Acting for Drama Theater under Prof. Nadezhda Seikova at the same university.
Between 2005 and 2009, she graduated from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts “Krastyo Sarafov” in Sofia, majoring in Acting for Puppet Theater under Prof. Bonio Lungov, Assoc. Prof. Maya Encheva, and Assistant Prof. K. Karakostov. Over the years, she participated in numerous student and diploma productions, including Fairy Dance and The Iron Boy directed by Prof. Bonio Lungov, and The Lazy Little Bee by Eva Kyosovska.
From 2009 to 2025, Teodora Zheleva was part of the troupe of the State Puppet Theater “Dora Gabe” – Dobrich, where she built an extensive repertoire and performed many memorable roles, including:
- Jack and the Beanstalk (roles: Bella the Cow, Old Man, Anna)
- Hansel and Gretel (Gretel)
- Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves (Scheherazade, Bandit, Morgiana)
- Where Are You Going, Little Horse? (Fairground Mare)
- Good Night, Treasure (The Green Gnudle)
- Looking for a Friend (Bear, Fox, Mokchenche)
- The Magic Shop (Narrator and Crow)
- The Most Precious Thing (Pantalone, Aunt Stefka, Illness)
- A Tale About Oh (Lili, Sick Tooth, New Tooth)
- Rhyming Tales for Little Timmy (Timmy and Crow)
- A Heroic Tale (Porter, Old Man, Black Arab, Witch)
- Fairy Kandilka (Fairy Selena, Witch)
- The Lazy Little Bee (Gardener, Lazybee).
Alongside her work in the puppet theater, she also performed at the Drama Theater “Yordan Yovkov” – Dobrich, where she appeared in:
Dangerous Adventures with Sweet-Voiced Heroes – directed by Lyubo Malinov (role: Elvira the Fox), The Living from the Dead Neighborhood – directed by Georgi Kaytsanov (role: Mika the Milkmaid), and The Inn by the Border – directed by Pavel Pavlov (role: Vyara).
Since March 2025, Teodora Zheleva has been an actress at the Drama and Puppet Theater “Vasil Drumev” – Shumen. She has completed English language courses (A1, A2, B1) at “Europe School” and speaks both German and English.
In her free time, she enjoys cycling, reading, and cinema.
