Comedy Festival “Todor Kolev”
In June 2026, Shumen will host the third consecutive edition of the Comedy Festival “Todor Kolev”. Once again, the festival is organized and hosted by the Drama and Puppet Theatre “Vasil Drumev” – Shumen, where each summer the stage becomes a celebration of comedy, talent, and audience spirit. An official partner of the event is Nedekov Art. The 2026 edition will take place from 26 June 2026 to 30 June 2026.
Open Call for 2026
The festival welcomes theatres and amateur organizations from across the country to apply with comedy productions for the 2026 edition.
Applications are open in two categories: professional productions by state, municipal, and private theatres, and non-professional productions by theatre universities and amateur organizations.
The application deadline is 30 April 2026. Proposals can be sent to todorkolevfest@gmail.com.
The “Todor Kolev” Comedy Festival, organized by the Drama and Puppet Theatre “Vasil Drumev” – Shumen, held its first edition in June 2024. Created in honor of the legendary actor, singer, and showman Todor Kolev, the festival pays tribute to an artist whose talent and humor continue to inspire generations.
